Winter, the popgaze project of Samira Winter, has always had a fierce undercurrent to balance the lightness of her voice. Nowhere is that more pronounced than on brand new track “All I Know”, the second of two singles Samira has made alongside Mexican Summer’s producer and visual artist Jorge Elbrecht.

Streaming here for the first time today, “All I Know” follows 2020’s “Endless Space (Between You & I)” and completes the two-part single, which is released via the ever worthy Bar None Records. Bursting out the blocks with a dense flourish of meaty guitars, that sit like thick storm clouds above the charmingly melodic vocals which dance far below.

“This track makes me feel like I’m diving into a swirling pool of saturated bliss,” Samira says of the new song. “I went to Denver to spend a long weekend and came with the demo for ‘Violet Blue’. After knocking that one down on the first day, Jorge started playing guitar and singing what would become ‘All I Know’.”

Brilliantly infectious, there’s something sincerely invigorating about the balance between light and dark here, Jorge’s voice dipping in and out of proceedings too, adding another layer to what often feels like a magical incantation. “Samira is such an amazing friend and brilliant collaborator, this was an effortless experience,” Jorge Elbrecht says of his appearance here. “I’m extremely proud of the way it came out.”
