It’s somehow been more than four years since we first put our name behind Bossy Love, showcasing the band in Edinburgh as part of 2015’s Pleasance Sessions. Despite their burgeoning reputation, which has seen them cited as Scotland’s very best live band, it’s taken them all the days, weeks, and months in between to finally grace us with their debut album.

Released last week, the inventive and infectious brilliance of ‘Me + U‘ is worth every bit of the wait, and to coincide with the release, Bossy today unveil a brand new video from it in the form of ‘Foreign Love‘, a three-minute gem which features Gerard Black of fellow GFP-faves Babe.

Informed by the playful undercurrent of John Baillie Jnr’s musicianship, the track sees Wilkinson and Black trading colourful lead vocals to create a diorama of dark disco. “Foreign Lover was written when my Danish partner had to move back to Copenhagen in the face of Brexit,” Amandah Wilkinson says of the song. “I’d just fallen in love and suddenly found myself travelling between Glasgow and Copenhagen to make it work. It’s stressful, frustrating and a huge struggle for us both; we never have any time and are making it work with the little money we have, but it’s this amazing new love, and we know that as long as we have each other, we’ll be okay.”

Catch the band play their album release show in Glasgow at the end of November.
