Track Premiere:

Thin Lips

“Not Losing Sleep”

by tom johnson

Not content with their triple-threat roadshow lighting a fire under the early part of 2017, Modern Baseball, Thin Lips, and The Superweaks are also teaming up for a new split 7″, featuring one new track from each band, released via perennial emo champions Big Scary Monsters, and which will be available exclusively at the merch table throughout the forthcoming European dates, which you can check out in full at the bottom of this page. Kicking off at the end of this month, the tour takes in eleven countries, including England and Scotland, and is already looking set to be one of the year’s most rewarding live shows.

Ahead of the tour, GFP is very pleased to share a brand new track from the aforementioned split single, and Thin Lips’ entry can be heard in all of its raucous finery below. Punctuating the silence with a sudden gust of fiery vocals, Chrissy Tashjian takes the reigns throughout the track’s succinct running time, her frightfully infectious charm every bit as powerful as the surrounding peaks and troughs of the faithful instrumentation. “If we don’t fight about I can start to breathe / If we don’t smother every ounce of our autonomy…” Tashjian sings, the whole thing bounding along with the kind of restless energy that just shouldn’t be shackled and restrained; powerful and formidable at each and every turn.

A mighty good start to a very promising split release – you can stream “Not Losing Sleep” below right now.
