Framed by one of those guitar lines that was seemingly carried on the sweetest of breezes, ‘Been So Long‘ is the hazily affecting new track from South Carolina’s Del Sur – lifted from the forthcoming ‘Eating In Bed‘ LP which is set for release later this year via Rough Beast Records.
Led by Michael Collier’s charmed vision, the new track is a laid-back undertaking from the first moment of that faint intro, only it never once feels languid, instead the lethargy presents something infinitely more arresting, bringing a sense of underlying melancholy to the Del Sur staple. The sun still glimmers, the trees bend in the breeze but ‘Been So Long’ dreams of elsewhere, or at least someone else entirely.
Sweet and bright, but always underlined with a inescapable pining, the track offers a small ache for summer even during the most inhospitable of climates. Listen below.
