Tapes Waves | Hanging On

by tom johnson

One of myriad records that charmed us in 2014 while, for one reason or another, not ever making it on the GFP pages was Tape Waves resplendent collection of dream-pop, Let You Go which arrived, somewhat perfectly, in the middle of Summer via the always-fruitful Bleeding Gold Records.

The record gained such a following, in fact, that it’s just had a second-pressing and, to coincide with the release, the band unveiled a brand new track, ‘Hanging On‘, which would be available as a blue 7″ flexi-disc alongside the new version of the album. Steeped in the bands wistful sense of romance, the track is a breezy delight that pricks at those senses drawn to times that sit a long way from the current climatic conditions.

Exemplifying this intimate weight of place and time, the bands new video adds a nostalgic grace to the heart of ‘Hanging On’, bringing something both tender and impassioned to an otherwise bouyant display. Check it out below; stream/buy the album here.

Let You Go is out now, via Bleeding Gold Records.
