We’ve been big fans of Doe for a while now (we’ve already got the t-shirt and everything) but new track ‘Avalanche‘ – the second to be released from Fierce Panda’s 2015 singles series – feels like the moment that their scrappy, punk-pop vigour finally bursts in to full fruition.
Rendering the past few albums from Weezer utterly useless, the London-trio shape that bands early connotations and channel them in to the best three-minutes that Rivers Cuomo has forgotten how to write. Brash and assertive from the outset, ‘Avalanche‘ never once looks back. instead it hurtles restlessly and relentlessly through a series of guitar struts and unifying vocal hooks.
The full single comes out on February 16th – backed by another track, ‘Basement‘ – but you can dive headfirst in to Avalanche below and revel in its chaotic, heart-thumpingly memorable, precursor below. Don’t look back.
Doe’s ‘First Four’ LP is out now. Buy it here.
They tour the U.S next month – more info here.
