A load of
I’ve never been more sure of anything than when I say that the last couple of weeks have been a strange old time. We’re living through history, in unprecedented times, the memories of which will stay with us all for the rest of our lives.
It’s ok to be overwhelmed by that. It’s ok to do nothing, say nothing. It’s also still ok to laugh and love and play music so loud it shakes your bones and carries you far, far away from the real world.
There are so, so, so people and artists and small business who suddenly stare into the void. GFP is a small independent company, sustained only by magazines sales and our $5 Patreon album club. We’re scared, and we know so many of you are too (we have some special deals over on our Bandcamp page today, if you’re in a position to help us out).
But today we want to celebrate.
So much of our very favourite music was found in the treasure troves of Bandcamp and today only the platform are waiving their share of the fees you pay, so that all proceeds go to the artists and labels that work so hard to illuminate the darker parts of our lives. Below you’ll find a selection of our favourite work. Hit play on a few/all of them and buy something new for yourself or send to a friend as a gift. Make a small difference today. Be kind to shopworkers, wash your hands, and stay indoors when you can. Thanks for being here, much love to you all.
