Babe | The Hereaftergo’ers [EP]
[GFP premiere]

Following up 2014’s beautifully vibrant full-length, Volery Flighty, Glagsow’s Babe release a brand new EP this month and we’re very pleased to bring you an exclusive stream of all four tracks ahead of its full release on April 27th via Moshi Moshi.
The EP, which precedes a host of live dates including our very own Sucker Punch festival in Glasgow next month, is similarly magnetic to last year’s LP, blending those dreamily refined vocal flourishes with a dynamic backing of keys and softened beats. Title track The Hereaftergo’ers opens proceedings and its vague sense of orientation immediately sets the tone for what follows. Lead track ‘The Warbling’ still feels somewhat mystifying in its approach, a murky, dead-of-night noir-pop song that quietly digs its heels in.
This opaque atmosphere is further heightened by ‘Mickey’s Making Films‘, an alluring track which comes alive through the repeated vocal refrain that builds within it, before the EP’s most playful moment ‘Kept Up’ draws proceedings to a close; it’s vibrantly woven instrumentation a compelling counterpoint to the over-riding story-arc.
As a companion piece to last years LP, The Hereaftergo’ers is a interesting and satisfyingly distant cousin, projecting a different angle than what came before. As a stand-alone piece it’s an immersive and beautifully texture entity. In short; job very much done. Check it out below.
