Any Other | Sonnet #4 EP

[GFP Premiere]

Released earlier this year via Italy’s Bello Records, Any Other’s Silently. Quietly. Going Away LP, was a ten-track collection of heart-filled guitar pop, crafted from Adele Nigro’s most spirited desire to return and thrive after the dissolving of her previous band, The Lovecats. Gifted with a rough but indelibly enduring vocal which sits somewhere within the realm of Waxahatchee’s solemn calling, Nigro’s songs are full of heart and fiery passion, the kind of voice that eclipses all around it.

New EP, Sonnet #4, features three previously unheard tracks, out-takes from the aforementioned album. Carrying a raw sense of immediacy, the songs sit somewhere between demos and rugged sketches, but manage to compel just the same. ‘Me Muddled’ and ‘Not In These Days’ are more restrained numbers, before ‘Cold House’ adds a much needed dose of rugged noise to proceedings. The title track steals the show however, a creepy, darkened unraveling that builds in to a powerful, unhinged finale.
