Sounding, perhaps, a little bit of both, Glasgow’s Savage Mansion return today with brand new track “Older And Wiser“, and one which is pulled from their forthcoming new ‘Document‘ EP, set to be released at the end of May via the Lost Map label – with a launch party/all-dayer in Glasgow that same weekend featuring the likes of Spinning Coin, Martha Ffion, Happy Spendy and more. A limited number of copies of the EP will also be available on Record Store Day, this coming weekend, with the band playing at Vox Box Records in Edinburgh, and Love Music and LP Records in Glasgow.

Something of a tale of two halves, ‘Older And Wiser‘ begins in classic Savage Mansion style, Craig Angus’ college-drenched vocals leaping endearingly among spiky bursts of guitar, the flailing energy all flamboyant and boisterous, before the track subtly explodes in to a vivacious instrumental, one that rips, and then dips, and then finds gleaming life once more. powering itself through to a wonderfully jubilant climax; the proverbial cherry a-top a devilishly excitable cake.

GoldFlakePaint will be DJing at the band’s all-day release bash on May 19th in Glasgow; tickets for which are on sale now and can be found here. Check out the new single below right away.
