Having previously released a couple of cassettes, and built a flourishing reputation across the DIY scene of the Midwest, Proud Parents are set to launch their first full LP with a release later this Summer via Dirtnap Records; home to the likes of Martha (in the U.S), Guantanamo Baywatch, Mean Jeans, and a whole bunch more.
Lifted from said release, and bursting in to the world today via the player below, Hypnotoad is indicative of the bands hurried, hustling charm, the track only sticking about for a couple of minutes but doing more than enough in that time to have you quickly digging around for more. Playful, spiky guitars are the most pertinent aspect here, cutting a path which the rest of the band duly follow; the reckless percussion, and the gnarly back-and-forth vocals – courtesy of founding members Claire Nelson-Lifson and Tyler Fassnacht – which are equally unshackled and every bit as charming as the .
