In early 2018, ex-Roz & The Rice Cakes leader Roz Raskin released a gem of an EP under a new guise, NOVA ONE, and via their new home on Community Records. A couple of years on from that release, NOVA ONE return with news of a brand new full-length, which also happens to be the 100th release from the New Orleans label.

Released on April 24th, the lovable LP was recorded at Big Nice Studios and features 10 new compositions from Raskin which examine “queerness, femininity, and gender through a gorgeously moody ‘60s-inspired pop lens.”

You can listen to one of those songs here today – and we’re very pleased to introduce the album’s beautiful lead track ‘violet dreams’. Bathed in a hushed sense of wonder, Raskin’s voice is as evocative as ever, taking the lead before falling back into the shadows and letting the sumptuous instrumentation take the lead.

A captivating three-minutes, ‘violet dreams’ makes for a subtly stirring introduction to the new album – and you can check it out below right now.
