Long Neck

This proverbial icing on Tiny Engine’s ridiculously strong 2017, Long Neck, the flourishing project of Jawbreaker Reunion’s Lily Mastrodimos, have announced that new album Will This Do? will be released via the label at the end of January, alongside the sharing of brand new track ‘Mine/Yours’ which immediately marks it out as one of the potential first-great-records of 2018. The new track is streaming below right now.

An immediately affecting couple of minutes, the new track punches with great verve and heart, Mastrodimos’ glowing lead vocal riding the brash wave of instrumentation that propels the whole thing forwards. “I want to say this simply. I want to make it pure. I want to be mine and I want to be yours,” she sings, amid little personal details, of people and places, of words and wishes, of something bigger than herself.

A glowing example of the plain-stated power of pop music, the track is heartening and powerful from the outset, racing down the open road, blinking in the bright light, driven by dreams and desires and their ability to flourish in the real-world. The full record arrives on January 26th, with pre-orders available now, here. Listen to the new track below.
