New Music:

Grace Vonderkuhn

words by tom johnson

Citing The Breeders, T-Rex, and Autolux as key influences on her work, Grace Vonderkuhn delivers latest track ‘Worry‘ with a gnarly and snarling sense of purpose which means the track never feels anything less than jubilantly fresh-faced; making a name for itself amid the hefty brilliance of bands she’s supported over the past year, from Titus Andronicus to Lower Dens and Sheer Mag.

A mighty sub four-minute guitar jam, the track unravels with frenetic clamour, the meaty guitars and cacophonous drums leap forward from the outset and never once check back-in to see if anyone’s following along for the ride. Vonderkuhn’s voice is a stable counter-weight to it all, knowing exactly when to pull it all in or, indeed, let loose with ample gusto.

Billed as an “anthem for over-thinkers”, the brilliant new single is plucked from Vonderkuhn’s forthcoming full-length effort on Egghunt Records, which has been announced for a February 23rd release. Check out ‘Worry’ below right now.
