We’ve all come a long way since the “chamber pop” invasion of the mid-noughties, which, thankfully, means that those who do it really well are given the space to evolve and flourish within such genre terms. One band who could well find themselves within that realm, while continuing to push the boundaries of their craft, are Brooklyn’s Friend Roulette, who today share new track “Snow Pea” from their new EP which is released this week.

Part electronic dream-world, part gleaming lounge-pop meditation, the band’s latest track is, once again, led by Julia Tepper voluptuous lead vocal that informs every inch of the track, a glowing instrument all of its own persuasion that magnetises throughout.

Taken from the new EP, which was pulled together from songs that were written – and then initially discarded – over a decade ago by a close friend of Friend Roulette, the new track is a fascinating glimpse in to another world and we’re very pleased to share it here today.

The full EP is unveiled tomorrow via a release show at The Silent Barn alongside gobbinjr (details here) – but you can check out “Snow Pea” below right now.
