Band Practice

“I Wanna Die Like Elvis”

So here’s a thing. JMC Aggregate, the lovely folk behind a whole host of rad comics/zines/tapes/badges/tees, are launching a new series called “Friends Live“; a collaborative series that featuring musicians, artists and poets. recorded live on-stage. Vol. 1 features Brooklyn comedian and artist Catherine Cohen (New American Comedy Collective, It’s a Guy Thing) and NYC’s, GFP-faves, Band Practice; the musical project of Jeanette Wall who has spent the last couple of year’s away from the limelight, since the release of Band Practice’s brilliant debut LP ‘Make Nice’, working A&R for ATO Records, nurturing the likes of Mitski, PWR BTTM, and more in her managerial role, and running the much-loved Miscreant Records.

Vol.1 was recorded live at New York’s Silent Barn venue in NYC in early 2016, and the first snippet from it can be heard today, with the sharing of previously unreleased Band Practice song “I Wanna Die Like Elvis“. Buoyed by Wall’s ever engaging lyricism, and the grittiness of the vocal that underpins it, the track is total gem, capturing the warm spirit of a live performance and able to hold its own as a stand-alone release.

The full tape is released on March 3rd – stream ‘I Wanna Die Like Elvis‘ below and grab a pre-order here.
