Having received its international release this summer, Man Is Not A Bird’s ‘Life & Levity‘ is a four-track EP that finds the Parisian quartet in suitably dynamic form, all crunching slabs of guitars and enticing melodies that flips between a number of the heavier genres to find its own place in among the darkened landscape of 2016’s releases.
Bolstering said EP, today sees the unveiling of a new take on the band’s ‘Haze‘ track courtesy of Glasgow’s finest The Twilight Sad. The EP’s closing track, the original version of ‘Haze’ is a skewed, fierce unraveling, full of thunderous layers of guitar, and while this too might also be The Sad’s forte, the new ‘rework’ offers something far more restrained. Adding space and new-found textures to parts that were previously swamped in noise, the new version is a sublime track in its own right; still dark and eminently mysterious but now with even more expanse to be explored.
Almost recalling The Radio Dept at their clouded, fuzzy best, it’s a reworking that adds something engagingly new to what came before – and we’re very pleased to unveil the track today. Check it out below.
