It’s not just the dulled, simplistic bedroom-beats that call to mind Casiotone For The Painfully Alone on the brand new track from Chalk, there’s also a sense of Owen Ashworth’s quiet sense of melodrama that bleeds right through the heart of it. Streaming below from today, ‘It’s Fine‘ presents an endearingly downbeat opening half before suddenly growing in to much more spacious caverns for it’s spirited final minute or so.

The latest track to emerge from Brighton’s Chalk is taken from the forthcoming new record which will see the light of day later this year via Brighton label Sonic Anhedonic and on cassette from the much-loved Kissability. You can get ‘It’s Fine‘ as the free download when you pre-order the new LP, so you should do that right here, and then stream the brilliant new track below.
