Japanese Breakfast

Everybody Wants To Love You

[Out Of Town Films live session]

[GFP Premiere]

One of the most heartening breakthroughs of 2016 has been Japanese Breakfast’s beautiful ‘Psychopomp’ LP, blossoming from its original Yellow K Records release earlier this Spring to its subsequent re-release via the muscular arms of the Dead Oceans label this coming August. Currently touring with Mitski (and the inimitable Jay Som) across the length and breadth of the United States – as part of a powerfully head-strong trio selling out venues like they’re going out of fashion – today Michelle Zauner unveils a new live take of said record’s stand-out moment, ‘Everybody Wants To Love You‘.

Riding that exuberant line between glowing pop music and decidedly personal outpouring of sentiments, the track feels ravenously alive in the new clip; led by the steely-eyed strength of Zauner and her band as they rip through the track’s gleaming heart with determined but undeterred abandon. Created by the great folks over at Out Of Town films – who have recorded sessions with the likes of Porches, Elvis Depressedly, Chelsea Wolfe and more –  you can check out the new film below.
