Jane Blanchard

“Missing Me”

words by tom johnson

Previously a mainstay of the New Brunswick indie scene, where she directs the annual Flourish Festival, Jane Blanchard recently relocated to Edinburgh, Scotland, catching the ear of the much-loved local label Gerry Loves Records (PAWS, Rick Redbeard, Adam Stafford), who have been in hibernation since 2017.

An immediately emphatic return, the label will release Blanchard’s first release since her relocation, in the form of the ‘Still, Again’ EP, which arrives in early July on limited edition 12″ which also includes the previously-released ‘ENEMY’ EP.

Acting as its tantalising introduction, we’re very pleased to share new track ‘Missing Me’ today, which you can check-out via the new video below right now; a glorious first-taste of Jane’s new work alongside drummer Stefan Westner.

Informed by the big choppy guitars that snarl from the outset, the track reaches a settling with Blanchard’s compelling voice which seems almost always out of focus while still commanding the attention throughout. Check it out here and grab a pre-order via the link below.
