Introducing | Powder Blue
by Tom Johnson
Suitably epic in scope and fiery in its delivery, Run is the quite brilliant new track from menacing Canadian quartet Powder Blue. While the band may be new to us they have already caught the ears of some UK folks and have recently been invited to play at this years Great Escape festival in Brighton and Liverpool’s Sound City this May.
Built around a tumultuous fog of guitars, Run takes its props from contemporaries such as The Besnard Lakes and Crocodiles and spins its own web of spirited and gloomy indie rock. More than that though, what the band produce feels genuinely exciting; the mood and atmosphere they create every bit as important as the crashing percussion and swell of feedback that shapes the track.
Simply put; we’re hooked. Listen below and beware of the dark.
