2011’s Welcome To Condale was something of a minor miracle. So steeped in 80’s nostalgia, with it’s hazy synths and Weird Science samples, and so cool it could easily have put a number of people off before even hearing a note. That it managed to get past both of those potential stumbling blocks and find itself near the top of many end-of-year lists was down to both the enthusiasm of Elizabeth Sankey and Jeremy Warmsley and the quality of the songwriting found on the record.

GoldFlakePaint sat down with the duo before their recent Bristol show and they played this rather-wonderful version of Down for us…
