Released in November of last year, and seemingly one of 2016’s hidden gems given the impact it’s had on our ears over the past couple of weeks, Tyler Daniel Bean’s ‘On Days Soon To Pass‘ is a wild and rugged album; a stirring record that makes good on the Pedro The Lion and Damien Jurado references will filling the surrounding the space with Bean’s own uniquely shadowy atmospherics.
Drifting between the poignant and the powerful, the record is a heartening bluster of Americana-laced indie-rock, something that is perhaps best exemplified on “Willow II”, one of the albums stand-out tracks, which gets its own accompanying video today. Streaming below, the film itself also seems to flip through moods and tones in the blink of any eye, managing to be both playful and emotive, often in the same scene. Matching the small-town sense of isolation that underpins much of their music, it makes for an imposing three-minutes, but one that you won’t have any trouble leaping back in to. Check it out below.
