DIY godfather, Jad Fair joins Japanese avant-garde folk group Tenniscoats and Glasgow’s own Norman Blake on ‘Raindrops’, a double album full of delightfully simple musical pleasures, including ‘Powerful Love’, streaming below.
A genuinely multicultural and international multimedia endeavour, the video for ‘Powerful Love’ is both colourful and radiates an important message of positivity. It features Jad’s own paper-cut art figures, who are joyfully brought to life by Danish animator Claus Frøhlich. The song, previously only available on the 2014 Japanese album, ‘How Many Glasgow’, comes back in this spectacular kaleidoscopic reprise and feels particularly in demand in a gritty, grey and hate-tainted world.
