Like all great emo bands, Caracara have that ingrained ability to craft songs that feel both weighty and rousing, songs that leap between the light and dark with considered abandon, dragging the listener up in to their arms before throwing them back out in the real world, heart, guts, and all. Releasing their debut LP later this year, the band have so far unveiled two cuts from it; the grief-stricken scuzziness of ‘Revelatory’, and the burgeoning punch of “Glacier”, which we’re very pleased to share the new video for today.
An immersive three-and-a-half minutes, the track gathers up plenty of loose inspirations (a dash of Manchester Orchestra here, a pinch of Brand New there) but sculpts them in to something that feels decidedly of their own making, thanks, mostly, to that burned-out lead vocal that battles its way through the swelling instrumental backing. Suitably dark and imposing, the new video makes a compelling companion piece to the track – and you can check it out right here and now.
