Sandwiched between the release of new single ‘Tricks‘ and her headline show at 229 in London next month, Annabel Allum today unveils said singles accompanying video – and it makes for a compelling companion piece to Allum’s strongest track to-date.
Released via Killing Moon last month, ‘Tricks’ finds Allum in somewhat confrontational form, her hardened vocal meeting an instrumental that feels just as tough; distorted guitars and thick-edged percussion crafting a backdrop that threatens to swallow everything in close vicinity. Streaming below, the new video takes this almost dystopian narrative and delivers a striking flicker of images, skewed set-pieces that feel as suitably brash and singular as the song itself.
Playing at Always The Sun Festival on September 1st, as well as the aforementioned London date, Allum looks set to finish the year with the same fervour that has led to such a groundswell of platitude rising around her. Check out the new video below.
