Arriving, appropriately, on an election day that feels full of division and uncertainty, one of England’s nation treasures for those of us that believe that there’s something in its fabric to believe and rejoice in, Darren Hayman and Emma Kupa today unveil the fruits of their wonderful new collaborative effort – and the glowing pop of “A Tent Of Blankets” might well be the sweet shot-in-the-arm you were craving all along.
Billed as The Hayman Kupa Band, which also takes in Michael Wood (Singing Adams/Whoa Melodic) and Cat Loye (Fever Dream), the pair shared writing and singing duties across the record, working each others ideas and inspirations in to a wonderful twelve-track record that is released on July 21st via Fika Recordings.
Their brand new single, which is streaming below for you here today (and available digitally tomorrow), feels like the epitome of their endearing craft; a sumptuous, sub-three minute burst of melodic, charming, and, dare we say it, classic pop music to get utterly lost in for a short amount of time. Take a break; have a listen below right now.
