Taken from their forthcoming ‘We Have No Friends?’ EP, which is released on September 22nd via Native Sound, Kevin Pariso and Joel Witenberg, better known to you and I today as Brooklyn’s Surf Rock Is Dead, today share brand new track “As If”, a three-minute dream-pop gem which acts as something of a formidable precursor to said release – and is available for you to stream to your heart’s content below right now.
A glowing three-minutes, “As If” adds layered vocal harmonies to the dizzying backdrop of sparkling guitar lines that lead the whole thing forward in a heady sway of colour, the track arriving just in time to catch that mid-summer slump and throw the whole thing back in its face. Arriving on the heels of both their previous ‘SRID’ EP, and a standalone single, “As If” marks another visible leap forward from the duo; a sumptuous bout of guitar-pop just when we need it the most.
