“Wait For The Impact”

Releasing his debut full-length effort next month, via Rob Da Bank’s Sunday Best label (Mary Epworth, Xylaroo), Lewes’ Laurence Galpin today unveils new track “Wait For The Impact“, a tender piece of folk-like balladry from his Laucan project, and a song that beautifully sets up the full release of his ‘FramesPerSecond’ LP.

An evocative three-minutes, Laucan’s new track is something of a displacing composition, that high-pitched voice fluttering somewhere way above the instrumentation, close to not making sense but then reigned in just enough to craft something both decidedly lasting and poignant. That aforementioned vocal is a thing of stark beauty, the kind of voice that is undoubtedly an instrument all of its own making, as supple and solid as the flourishes of guitar and percussion that back it up with quiet consideration throughout.
