“Wrapped Up”

by tom johnson

The second single to be shared from their forthcoming debut album, “Ruin Value“, which is released on Friday March 10th via Community Records, “Wrapped Up” finds Keeping in suitably lethargic mood, the sluggishness of the vocal sitting at odds against a more crushing musical spine. Featuring members of Sharks’ Teeth, Sun Hotel, and All People – all of whom belong to the Community Records roster (indeed label co-founder Greg Rodrigue sings lead on this very track) – Keeping is very much a family affair and such spirit rattles through the bones of their work, something that is very much evident on their latest track, which is streaming below from today.

Following on from the two previously-released tracks, “Wrapped Up” doesn’t necessarily show us anything new about Keeping that we didn’t already know, but it certainly reaffirms the solidity of their craft; ripping through its couple of minutes in a heady daze of choppy guitars and moody, tempestuous attitude that silently references all of those underlying aspects of American suburban living that infiltrates so much of this kind of work. A hardy, and often heartening bout of good ol’ rock and roll, you can stream the new track below right now.

Ruin Value is released on March 10th – you can pre-order it here
