After a slight release-date stutter, April 1st finally signals the day that Candela, the new, and seventh, album from Mice Parade is released here in the UK. We premiered the video for This River Has A Tide way back in December, and as you can tell from its glorious noise, Candela is another wondrous journey through highly infectious rhythms constantly shifting musical landscapes.

To tie in with the albums release, a digital live album is set for release in the coming months. Details are a little hazy at the moment so we thought it best to speak to Mr Mice Parade himself, Adam Pierce, for a little more info on it…

“We couldn’t be prouder of our live album, after talking about making one for nearly a decade! We had a great band on our European and Uk tour in 2010, that gave the songs life and constantly blew me away while doing so.

We managed to capture it right at the end of the last tour that we’d be doing in that format for a while… I think we all tip our hats to the closing of a great era in our memories.”

As a little treat for all of you, we’re very pleased to bring you an exclusive free download from the forthcoming live album, in the shape of this incredible eight-minute version of Ground As Cold As Common; a track from their super great 2005 LP, Bem-Vinda Vontade.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do…

Candela is released via Fatcat Records on April 1st. Pre-order here.
