Announcing her brand new album, Reverseries, which is set for release on February 24th via How Sweet The Sound, Jennie Abrahamson is also unveiling a brilliant new track from it in the form of the sweeping, tender electro-pop balladry of “Man In You” – and we’re very pleased to unveil the track today.
The follow-up to 2012’s Gemini Gemini LP, the new record was again constructed with her perennial studio partner Johannes Berglund (Owen Pallett, The Knife), and the record is said to be a heartfelt journey “with the ability to evoke clear images in warm colours,” and the lead track feels like the personification of such things; a poignant, glistening pop song that wears its heart fully on display throughout. Like a somewhat more considered take on Chvrches sparkling clarity, “Man In You” endears itself further with each passing minute, the warmth of Abrahamson’s sugar-sweet vocal guiding the whole thing to its measured finale.
Stream the new track below right now; here’s what Abrahamson had to say about the record and the ideas that informed it:
“I do believe these are historical times, and though it’s challenging I believe we have a chance to make a difference to the better, if we don’t resign to fear, hatred and only caring about our own safety and well-being. Love and spread love.”
