Over the last couple months Belgian punks Mind Rays have been sharing cut after cut of invigoratingly angsty punk from their debut full-length Nerve Endings – the sort that’s crafted from the gutter and meant to played in the darkest of bar rooms to shadow the intensity of their music. What makes them stand out is the underlying euphoria of rock n roll that lays the foundations for their compounding sound – an undeniable strut and bounce that grooves as much as it shakes.
Sharing the last single before the record’s release, ‘Follow Suit’ defines such balance of energy and substance – screeching, tyre-burning solos twang with slinking rhythm as the group join together for a riotous act of a chorus. It’s animated, durable and essentially absorbing – the rasping, brawling lead vocal awakening demons of reality and without question stirring the pot of exacerbation for good measure.
A bruising final introduction to this encompassing band – ‘Follow Suit’ can be heard below.
